2022 soared by and now 2023 is here. Before you know it, we will sing Christmas carols again.
Not long ago, I was the Chief Operating Officer of a local market research company that has been in business for almost two decades. Around Thanksgiving, I was in the same boat as many Oklahomans when I was called into my boss’ office and literally told,
“We just can’t afford you anymore.” You never know how to take that. However, I was lucky to have some time to think about what I wanted to do. Did I want to work for another company and fight against other mid-level executives to get my foot hold to where I needed to be? Or I could take a leap of faith and find a partner and open my own business.
